What this covers

Makers2Makers (“we,” “us”) connects sellers of custom products with a network of production partners who fulfill those orders. This policy explains what information we collect through the app, why we collect it, and who we share it with.

Information we collect

When you use Makers2Makers, we collect:

  • Account information — your name, email, and business details, via Clerk (our authentication provider).
  • Store and order data — when you connect Etsy, Shopify, or another store, we import order details needed to fulfill them: customer name, shipping address, item, and order value. We do not collect or store payment card information from your customers.
  • Shipping data — addresses and package details you provide, shared with our shipping partner (Shippo, or your own connected Shippo/ShipStation account) to generate labels and rates.
  • Messages you send through the app, to sellers, production partners, or support.

How we use Etsy data specifically

If you connect an Etsy shop, we access your shop’s order (receipt) data through Etsy’s official API, using OAuth — we never see or store your Etsy password. We use this data only to sync your orders into Makers2Makers so they can be routed to a production partner and fulfilled. We do not access buyer shipping addresses through the Etsy API, and we do not submit shipment or tracking updates to Etsy through the API — that stays a manual step you do on Etsy directly. We do not sell, rent, or use your Etsy shop data for advertising.

The term “Etsy” is a trademark of Etsy, Inc. This application uses the Etsy API but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy, Inc.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the services required to run the app, and only what each one needs to do its job:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management.
  • Neon — our database host.
  • Etsy and Shopify — to sync orders, when you connect a store.
  • Shippo and ShipStation — to generate shipping labels and rates, when you connect a shipping provider.
  • Resend — to deliver email notifications you’ve opted into.
  • Anthropic and OpenAI — power the in-app help assistant and image-generation tools; only the specific text or images you submit to those features are sent.
  • Vercel — hosting.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Access logging

We keep a log of who views an order’s detail page — the user, the order, and when — as an audit trail over access to a customer’s personal information.

Data retention

We keep order and account data for as long as your account is active, so your order history stays available. A buyer’s personal information (name, shipping address, phone, email) on a completed order is automatically removed two years after that order finishes shipping — the order record itself (item, value, date, status) is kept for your own accounting, just without the buyer’s identifying details. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Your privacy rights

If you’re located in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have rights under the GDPR to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If you’re a California resident, you have similar rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we’ve collected and to request its deletion. This applies to your own account information as well as any customer personal information (such as a buyer’s name or address) that reaches us through an order you’ve synced from Etsy, Shopify, or another connected store. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.

Your choices

You can disconnect a store or shipping provider at any time from Settings, which stops any further data syncing from that service and immediately deletes the stored connection credentials for it. Disconnecting does not automatically erase orders already synced from that store — those follow the same retention schedule described above, and you can request their deletion at any time by contacting us. You can control which notifications you receive, including email, from Settings → Notifications.
